New rules apply before the first trade of a challenge.
A prop firm trades with its own money. The CFTC glossary defines a proprietary trading group as "An organization whose owners, employees, and/or contractors trade in the name of accounts owned by the group and exclusively use the funds of the group for all of their trading activity." This simulator is a practice evaluation on real prices with four rules:
Real programs set their own numbers and definitions, so open Change the rules and match the challenge you are practicing for. Each challenge picks one of five crypto markets and a hidden 30-day stretch since January 2022, after 3 days of history.
You hold one trade at a time. Choose the direction, the share of the balance to risk and the stop distance, and the simulator sets the size: risking 1% with a 2% stop is a position of half the balance. Orders fill at the next open with 0.05% slippage, and every fill pays a 0.1% fee. The CFTC describes a stop order as "an order that becomes a market order when a particular price level is reached," so a stop fills at its price minus 0.05% on a long. If a candle reaches both your stop and your target, the stop counts first. If your equity reaches a loss limit before your stop does, the trade is closed at that level plus slippage and the challenge ends. The yellow line on the chart marks that price.
The daily limit is 5%, and one day in crypto can be bigger than that. From January 1, 2022 to September 27, 2026, a long position worth the whole balance, opened at 00:00 UTC, was down more than 5% at some point of the same day, before costs, on 6.8% of days in bitcoin and 24.0% in solana. At twice the balance, a 2.5% move is enough, and that happened on 25.8% of bitcoin days and 51.4% of solana days. The table shows the share of days on which a position opened at 00:00 UTC lost more than 5% of the balance at some point of that day.
| Market | Median daily range | 1x long lost more than 5% | 1x short lost more than 5% | 2x long lost more than 5% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 3.3% | 6.8% | 7.6% | 25.8% |
| Ether | 4.4% | 14.2% | 12.1% | 38.2% |
| Solana | 6.2% | 24.0% | 24.6% | 51.4% |
| XRP | 4.6% | 16.3% | 15.4% | 43.4% |
| Dogecoin | 5.7% | 22.2% | 21.7% | 49.6% |
Fees and slippage come on top of the risk you set. With a 2% risk and a 1% stop, one stop-out costs 2.50% of the balance, two in a row 4.93%, and a third on the same day breaks the 5% daily limit.
We ran one mechanical plan through every possible challenge in the data: 1,699 start days from January 4, 2022 to August 29, 2026 in all five markets, 8,495 challenges in each direction, with the default rules. At every 00:00 UTC without an open trade, the plan opened one trade risking 1% with a 2% stop and a 2R target.
Not one attempt broke the daily limit: with 1% at risk and one trade a day, a single day could not cost 5%. Most simply ran out of days, and the median pass came on day 20 for longs and day 21 for shorts. A plan like this is not a strategy to copy. It shows how the rules work together: the loss limits end the fast failures, and the clock ends most of the rest.
Educational, not financial advice. This is a practice game with play money. It is not linked to any prop firm, and it does not show whether a real program is worth joining.
A practice version of a trading evaluation: you try to grow a play-money account to a profit target inside a time limit without breaking a daily loss limit or a maximum loss. This one runs on a hidden real month of Bybit crypto prices and charges a 0.1% fee on every fill.
By default a 10% profit target, a 5% daily loss limit measured from the 00:00 UTC balance, a 10% maximum loss, at least 4 trading days and 30 days in total. You can change the first four numbers before the first trade of a challenge.
At 00:00 UTC the simulator records your balance. If your equity, the balance plus the open profit or loss, falls more than the daily limit below it at any price inside a candle, the trade is closed at that price plus slippage and the challenge fails.
Rarely. Risking 1% per trade with a 2% stop and a 2R target, one trade a day, passed 4.4% of 8,495 real challenges going long and 6.9% going short. About three in four ran out of time.
No. The prices are real historical Bybit spot candles, but the money is play money, no order reaches an exchange, and the market and dates are revealed only when the challenge ends.
