Data: Bybit spot market, daily candles (UTC), 7 markets: BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, SOL/USDT, XRP/USDT, DOGE/USDT, ADA/USDT, AVAX/USDT. Range 2022-01-01 to 2026-09-23. Fetched 2026-09-24 from the exchange's public market data with the open-source ccxt library.

How chart replay works

Chart replay is a way to rehearse on history: you see the chart up to a certain day, make a decision, then reveal what came next one candle at a time. Each round here picks one of seven crypto markets and a random 120-day stretch since January 2022. The first 60 daily candles are the history you study. Then press Next day or Auto play to reveal the next 60 candles, and trade as you go.

The coin and the dates stay hidden, so you cannot lean on memory. Prices appear as an index that starts at 100 where the replay begins. When the 60 days are up, the game closes any open trade and reveals the market, the dates and the real prices.

Real data, real costs

Every candle is a real daily open, high, low and close from the Bybit spot market, downloaded from Bybit's public market data with the open-source ccxt library and stored as a static file. Nothing is smoothed or generated, and each day starts at 00:00 UTC. To keep results honest, every fill in the game pays a 0.1% fee and 0.05% slippage, and the buy and hold benchmark pays the same costs.

Tips for better replays

Read the 60-day history before the first click: is the market trending, stuck in a range or falling hard? Use a smaller position size while you learn, because a 100% position moves your balance with every candle. Write down why you enter, then check it against the reveal. These markets can move 10% or more in a single day, so a short can go wrong fast, and the game closes a short on its own if your balance falls to 5% of the start.

To warm up first, the chart game uses simulated charts and 10 quick calls. For a refresher on candles and trends, read how to read stock charts.

Educational, not financial advice. The candles are real past prices, but past moves do not tell you what comes next. Unlike the simulated games on this site, this replay uses market history. It runs on play money and has no link to any exchange account.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the chart data real?

Yes. Every candle is a real daily candle from the Bybit spot market for BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, SOL/USDT, XRP/USDT, DOGE/USDT, ADA/USDT or AVAX/USDT, from January 1, 2022 onward. The game shows the source and the fetch date after each replay.

Why are the coin and the dates hidden?

If you knew it was Bitcoin in a famous month, you would trade from memory instead of from the chart. Hiding the name and showing prices as an index keeps the practice fair. Everything is revealed when the replay ends.

How are fees and slippage handled?

Each time you open or close a trade, the game charges a 0.1% fee on the trade value and fills you 0.05% worse than the closing price. Buy and hold pays the same costs, so the comparison is fair.

Can I replay stocks instead of crypto?

Not in this version. The replay uses daily crypto candles from Bybit public market data. For stock-style practice with simulated prices, try the stock market simulator.
